Now, if you are sitting in your residence hall office and you need to get to class (or perhaps a shopping trip at one of the local malls) whom do you call? CATA.
The Capital Area Transit Authority, or CATA, provides services for persons with disabilities in addition to a fleet of accessible fixed route buses. One of the services offered is Spec-Tran.
Spec-Tran is CATA's advanced reservation transit for persons with disabilities who cannot use fixed route services," the CATA website reads. "You must be certified in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act to use Spec-Tran. Spec Tran uses small buses with wheelchair lifts, station wagons and vans."
To use Spec-Tran, one must also be registered with the RCPD or CATA. See your RCPD specialist for details.
