And here you thought the Oscars marked the end of all the big awards shows! Not true!
On May 1, OPHS will host two special ceremonies. At 1 p.m., friends, family and co-workers of the late Judy K. Gentile will gather in the area just outside of OPHS (120 Bessey) to dedicate an atrium in her honor. At approximately 2 p.m., in 108 Bessey, graduating seniors will be recognized, and awards will be presented to outstanding students, faculty and staff at the1998 OPHS Awards Reception.
"We're hoping everyone can join us that day for both of these exciting events," said Margaret Chmielewski, director of OPHS. "We recognize that the end of the semester is a busy time for everyone, but we're hoping people will take a minute to at least drop by and share in some of the fun."
Because the atrium dedication and awards ceremonies are late in the semester this year, both events will miss the Harbinger's May deadline. However, award recipients will be recognized in the first fall issue of the newsletter, and have their names placed on the OPHS home page (www.msu.edu/unit/ophs/). A recap of the award ceremony and the atrium dedication will also be posted on the web site.
