Attorney Jeanne Kincaid, a renowned disability advocate and activist, will be the main conference speaker at the MI-AHEAD Annual Spring Conference, March 14, 1997. Kincaid serves as a consultant to AHEAD as well as presiding as a due process hearing officer in special education disputes in New Hampshire.
The conference is a one-day event held at the Marriott at University Place on M.A.C. Avenue in East Lansing. Items on the conference agenda include briefings on ADA and Section 504 decisions, new and continuing challenges for disability services offices and the MI-AHEAD annual board meeting. This year's registration price includes the day-long conference, continental breakfast and luncheon, as well as a year-long membership in MI-AHEAD. Regular registration is $80. This year a special student rate of $40 is being offered. This is a great opportunity for meeting other disability services officials from around the state, as well as networking with disability advocates and activists.
