The Council for Students with Disabilities (CSD) is ready to start another eventful semester. We would love for anyone and everyone to come to a meeting and check out our organization, what we are about, and what activities we are working on. We want YOU to be a part creating change and working toward equality.
What is CSD?
The Council for Students with Disabilities is an all inclusive group that addresses issues of importance for students with disabilities on Michigan State University's Campus, mainly program and facility issues. Members of The Council for Students with Disabilities are seeking positive change that will benefit both MSU students with disabilities and the supporting communities. We embrace the power of coalition building with other organizations at Michigan State University as well as Statewide and National groups, aiming to create a network of knowledge, education, friendship, resources and support. When does CSD meet?
We will be meeting every other Sunday in room 441 of the Union from 3:30-4:30pm. The dates are as follows: Jan 12th & 26th, Feb. 9th & 23rd, March 9th & 23rd, and April 13th & 27th.
The Sundays in between meetings, we will have activities such as discussion topics, movies, disability law trainings, service dog information, etc. The schedule is as follows: Feb 2nd - Watching "The Other Sister" - Room 441 of the Union, 3:30- 4:30pm Feb 16th - Having an open discussion on self-identification - Room 441 of the Union, 3:30-4:30pm.
The rest of the Sunday's activities are still in the planning process. The details will be sent out through our listserv when the dates get closer. If you would like to get on our listserv, please email Melinda at hausmeli@msu.edu or csd@msu.edu. Thanks, and we look forward to working with you on another semester full of activities and steps toward equality.
