Graduate School Now Has TTY
The Graduate School has recently purchased a TTY so that they can communicate with the deaf and hard of hearing community. Students are encouraged to call the Graduate School at 517-432-2524 with questions regarding graduate education at MSU.
New Arkenstone Technology At OPHS
OPHS will have a new Arkenstone Open Book reading machine available for students in mid to late February. Students who cannot read printed material, including textbooks and handouts can place the item on a scanner and the computer will scan the page and read it aloud in a synthesized voice. See Mike Hudson for more information. Remember, too, the technology room has computers with large print and speech output systems for student use. Sign up on the room schedule with Pam or Diana.
Reach Out and Touch Someone
Individuals wishing to call a deaf or hard of hearing Michigan resident can contact the Michigan Relay Center at 1-800-649-3777 from an ordinary telephone. An operator will place the call for you and act as a relay between you and the deaf or hard of hearing person. All calls are confidential and no records of conversations are kept. Calls are billed as if direct-dialed.
