Steam Distribution - West Circle SteamLoop

Construction along West Circle drive will significantly impact access to theWest Circle Neighborhood and other buildings on the north side of campus.Pedestrians are advised to avoid the area between Landon Hall and Human Ecology.This project may change your approach to buildings like Olin Student Health Centeror the MSU Union. The buildings are available to the public from the south sideof Grand River Avenue. If approaching Grand River Avenue from campus, pleaseuse the sidewalk on Farm Lane, heading north to Division near Berkey Hall. Thencontinue westward on the south side of Grand River. If you have additionalmobility concerns while navigating this construction project, please contactyour RCPD specialist or the West Circle construction project representative,Andy Linebaugh at alinebau@pplant.msu.edu or 517-432-7103.
Backgroundon the Project:
The north campus arch-style steam tunnels are 87to 102 years old and have significantly deteriorated. The structural anchors,pipe supports and steam equipment within these tunnels also require replacementor repair for safe and reliable operation of the steam distribution system.
This project is thefirst phase of a four-phase program to replace the deteriorating north campusarch steam tunnels, and will include installation of a new steam distributionloop around West Circle from Landon Hall moving clockwise to a point east ofHuman Ecology...Readmore about this project from the MSU Physical Plant.
Harrison Road Reconstruction fromTrowbridge Road to Mount Hope Road

Pedestrian Alert:
Pedestrians should consider the following detours.CATA is offering a free accessible shuttlefrom Trowbridge Plaza to Spartan Village during this project. There is also apedestrian walkway/sidewalk which will remain open during the Harrison Roadconstruction. As of early May, the sidewalk on the east side of Harrison Roadis open for pedestrian travel from Crescent Road to Trowbridge Road. Thisalert will be updated as further information becomes available. Background on the Project:
The 2012 Harrison Road reconstruction project includes the reconstructionof the roadway from Trowbridge Road to Mount Hope Road, located on the westside of Michigan State University's campus.
