Are you interested in meeting new people? Do you mind having fun in the process? Then check into what's going on at the intramural sports facility nearest you.
According to IM Sports Coordinator Jim Renuk, there's something for everyone at MSU's on-campus sports facilities, including weightlifting, swimming and, if there's enough interest, wheelchair basketball.
"We want people to get healthy through exercise, and have some fun, too," said Renuk. "Exercise is as good for your body as it is for your mind."
Pete Collman, an MSU post-grad student in telecommunications, is actively recruiting people for the basketball team.
"The trick is getting the word out," said Collman. "At first, we may have to open it up to the greater Lansing community, just to get people involved. This has never been done before, and I think it would be good for the university and good for people with disabilities," he said.
