This will be my 3rd college and I never received more support than I did at RCPD. -Aaron, Olympic Triathlon Record Holder & Samaritan Scholar |
Michigan State University's Tower Guard is distinguished as the oldest active MSU-based student organization. Membership in Tower Guard is founded upon four "corners or pillars": leadership, service, scholarship, and character. The organization's main commitment is to serve students with disabilities. Each member upholds this tradition by dedicating a total of 120 hours of reading textbooks and exams through the Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities.
The organization has an extensive list of traditions that have evolved over the years. Tower Guard remains active on campus through annual Homecoming tours of Beaumont Tower, the Beaumont Bowl fundraiser, and the Shamrock 5k Run/Walk/Roll.
Tower Guard is the only student organization that holds the key to Beaumont Tower. In the early years when Tower Guard was comprised of 20 - 25 members, the meetings were held on the second floor of the Tower; today's larger membership allows only the officers to continue this tradition. Though Tower Guard has evolved over the years, it continues to serve as a prominent model of leadership, service, scholarship, and character for the entire MSU community.
Tower Guard is collaborating with the RCPD to develop a scholarship program that will benefit Tower Guard scholars during their Junior and Senior years. You can help support this initiative or find out more about other RCPD programs and giving opportunities by visiting the Financial Contributions page.
