Summer at MSU means construction, construction, and more construction! Keep up with the RCPD Ability Blog for all of the latest construction updates this summer. The following dates are subject to change, but we will try to give you the most updated information possible.
Latest Updates as of 6/15:
Starting today, June 20, Infrastructure Planning and Facilities will restrict Wilson Road down to two lanes of traffic (two-way traffic) from Bogue Street to Farm Lane to repair a depression discovered in Wilson Road. One traffic lane in both directions will be maintained at all times during this road repair. Additionally, access to all buildings, parking lots and service entries will be maintained during the repair work. The duration of the closure is not yet known.
M-43/Grand River Avenue
On Saturday, June 15, all traffic on M-43, between Michigan Avenue and Bogue Street, will return to their normal lane configuration as paving on the westbound side of M-43 wraps up a week early. Eastbound and westbound M-43 traffic will again be open in each direction with access returned to all side streets.
Sidewalk and water main work will continue on M-43. Periodic single lane closures will still be needed for additional construction on M-43 for the duration of June and beginning of July.
Crews have a total of 26 days to complete paving along this section of M-43.
M-143/Michigan Avenue
Work will continue along Michigan Avenue, between Harrison Avenue and the split with M-43, while paving is taking place along the boulevard section of M-43.
On Monday, June 17, the Beal Street exit to Michigan Avenue will close for approximately 7 days so crews can complete the final paving at Michigan Avenue. Northbound Beal Street will be closed starting at West Circle Drive. Access to southbound Beal Street from Michigan Avenue will be maintained up to W. Circle Drive.
The closure at Beal Street is weather dependent.
All work on Michigan Avenue is expected to be complete by end of June.
