You have no idea what a positive influence RCPD has had on me. I wouldn't have been able to accomplish nearly as much in my undergraduate years without the support of RCPD.

RCPD Initiatives Move Forward with Jeanne Hunt

Ready with energy, enthusiasm, and a variety of technical skills, Jeanne Hunt arrived at MSU. She brought with her a compelling blend of experiences, including college administrative responsibilities and a unique background in information systems.

Jeanne started out at RCPD as a temporary employee, but like the rest of the RCPD staff, she was captivated by the positive atmosphere and the mission of the office, and decided to stay. She officially accepted the full-time position as the new Budget/Personnel Assistant to the Director for RCPD on October 22, 2007.

RCPD director Michael Hudson has high aspirations for both the staff and the office at RCPD. “I’m continually working to further efficiency through technology, and aspire to build a fiscally and operationally successful office,” said director, Michael Hudson. “With these goals in mind, Jeanne was a perfect match for the position.”

Jeanne received her bachelor’s degree in information systems from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

“My degree in information systems has taught me a lot about problem solving,” says Jeanne. “I learned how to remove unnecessary steps in order to solve problems in the most efficient way possible.”

This background combined with her experience as an administrative assistant for the Academic Dean at Goucher College in Maryland, have prepared her to have a positive impact on students, faculty and employees at MSU.

RCPD depends on Jeanne, and for good reason. “It is my responsibility to make sure people get what they need accurately and professionally, and of course, make sure people get paid” says Jeanne.

In addition to her unique academic and employment history, Jeanne is an interesting conversationalist for multiple reasons. Jeanne grew up in Alaska and lived in Maryland prior to moving to Michigan. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her 3 children, her new grandbaby, and her golden retriever.

So, next time you’re in the office, you might want to ask Jeanne for a few suggestions on how to keep warm this winter. Between her experience living in Alaska and good problem solving skills, you’re guaranteed a good answer.
